  1. Ensoniq Soundscape Install for OS/2
  2.  
  3. Step #1 :
  4.     You must have the OS/2 Multimedia extensions already loaded on your system
  5.     (indicated by the "Multimedia" icon on your desktop).  If it is installed
  6.     skip to step #2, otherwise continue to step #1A.
  7.  
  8.     Step #1A :
  9.         Run the "Selective Install" located in the "System Setup" item under
  10.         the "OS/2 System" folder.
  11.  
  12.     Step #1B:
  13.         After the Install program has been initialized, you will receive the
  14.         "System Configuration" window.  This window will display information
  15.         about how your system is currently configured.  The lower left corner 
  16.         of this window has the "Multimedia Device Support" box that should 
  17.         read "None," - this is correct.  You leave this screen by clicking on 
  18.         the "OK" button.
  19.  
  20.     Step #1E:
  21.         You should now have the "OS/2 Setup and Installation" window without 
  22.         any of the check boxes selected.  The sixth box from the top is the 
  23.         "Multimedia Software Support" line with the check box at the beginning.
  24.         You should click on this box (it must have the check mark in it), then 
  25.         click the "Install" button to continue.
  26.  
  27.     Step #1D:
  28.         Follow all of the prompts, and after the install is complete, shut 
  29.         down your system as normal and reboot OS/2, then continue with step #2.

  31. Step #2:
  32.     Run the "Multimedia Application Install" program from the "Multimedia" 
  33.     icon window on the desktop.
  34.  
  35. Step #3:
  36.     Insert the Soundscape OS/2 Install disk (Soundscape Installation Disk, 
  37.     Disk #2) into the drive, then use the drive pull down (the upper left 
  38.     corner) to select the drive letter (A: or B:).
  39.  
  40. Step #4:
  41.     Click on the "Ensoniq Soundscape" name or the ICON to the left.  This 
  42.     should highlight the line and place a check mark at the beginning of the 
  43.     line.  Then click the "Install" button to continue.

  45. Step #5:
  46.     You should receive a warning saying that the program is going to change 
  47.     your config.sys file.  You should let the program make the modifications 
  48.     for you, otherwise your sound card may not work!  Click the "Yes" button 
  49.     to continue from this point.

  51. Step #6:
  52.     After a brief message indicating that the driver information is being 
  53.     copied you will receive a prompt to "Select the total number of Ensoniq 
  54.     Soundscape."  This prompt is for systems that may have more then one 
  55.     Soundscape installed.  Currently we only support ONE.  Selecting ZERO will 
  56.     uninstall any previous Soundscape installations.
  57.  
  58. Step #7:
  59.     Set the Soundscape system values as you would in any other system.  The 
  60.     default values should be correct but if you know that these conflict with 
  61.     another device in your system make the change at this point in the install.  
  62.     Use the pull downs to select a different value if necessary.  When all 
  63.     changes (if any were necessary) are completed, click "OK" to continue.

  65. Step #8:
  66.     The installation will now update your system files.  You should receive 
  67.     two more prompts, the first one saying that the config.sys file was backed 
  68.     up and the final one saying that the installation was completed.  Click 
  69.     the "OK" button to clear these prompts.

  71. Step #9:
  72.     After the installation has completed, shut down OS/2 and reboot it so that 
  73.     the changes can take effect.  The Soundscape card should be initialized 
  74.     and you should get the startup sound effects when the desktop appears.
